Associate Sales Engineer who builds demos, proof-of-concept environments, and technical solutions for prospects while learning enterprise software sales alongside senior engineers.
InfluxData is the creator of InfluxDB, the leading time series platform used to collect, store, and analyze all time series data at any scale. Developers can query and analyze their time-stamped data in real-time to discover, interpret, and share new insights to gain a competitive edge. InfluxData is a remote-first company with a globally distributed workforce. For more information, visit www.influxdata.com.
Are you fascinated by the Internet of Things (IoT), real-time analytics, and the systems that keep factories, vehicles, energy grids and software infrastructure running? Are you a recent graduate who loves to code, learns fast, and wants to work at the intersection of engineering and customers? InfluxData is looking for an Associate Sales Engineer to join our EMEA team — someone with a love of technology and a passion for helping customers discover what’s possible.
This is an early-career role. We don’t expect you to have done this job before. We will teach you the craft of sales engineering; you bring the technical curiosity, the coding ability, and the appetite.
This is a remote position based in the UK. Unlike our senior Sales Engineers, this role does not require regular customer site visits. You will work with customers remotely and alongside senior Sales Engineers, often building solutions on a customer’s behalf — with occasional travel for team meetings, conferences and meetups.
Develop deep, hands-on expertise in InfluxDB and the wider InfluxData platform — including our APIs, client libraries, and integrations with tools like Telegraf, Grafana, MQTT and industrial protocols
Partner with senior Sales Engineers on active opportunities: building demos, proof-of-concept environments, sample integrations and scripts on behalf of prospects and customers
Provide responsive technical coverage across the sales team — answering product questions, running standard demos, and unblocking opportunities so senior SEs can focus on complex deals
Contribute to formal RFx responses and informal prospect Q&A/workshop sessions
Be an advocate for prospects and customers with our Engineering, Product and Support teams — relaying what you hear on the front line
Write content for blogs, community forums and sample-code repositories
Learn the mechanics of enterprise software sales (discovery, qualification, MEDDIC) from an experienced team
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related discipline — or equivalent demonstrable technical ability.
Comfortable writing code in at least one of Python, Go, JavaScript/Node.js or Java — enough to build working examples, integrations and small tools. Show us something you’ve built: side projects, hackathon entries, open-source contributions or coursework you’re proud of all count. If you have supporting material, please submit that as part of your application.
Familiarity with Linux fundamentals and the command line
Some exposure to working with data — SQL, NoSQL, CSVs and scripts, or data coursework
Excellent communication skills: you can explain a technical concept simply, to a technical or non-technical audience, in writing and in person
Curiosity about how businesses and physical operations work — one week you might be learning about battery telemetry, the next about network monitoring
Comfort with ambiguity and a bias for figuring things out: the best people in this role treat “I don’t know yet” as the start of the fun
Fluent written and spoken English
Tinkered with hardware, sensors or microcontrollers — Raspberry Pi, Arduino, home automation, robotics, vehicles
Any exposure to IoT or industrial technologies: MQTT, OPC-UA, SCADA, PLCs, telemetry
Used monitoring or observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus or InfluxDB itself
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or a cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Built anything with LLMs or AI developer tools
Spoken/written fluency in other European languages
If you’ve recently graduated, an internship or placement year is viewed very favourably
You will be paired with senior Sales Engineers who will mentor you on both the technical and commercial sides of the role. Expect a structured ramp: product training and certification first, then shadowing live deals, then owning your own technical engagements. The path from Associate SE leads to Sales Engineer and beyond — into senior pre-sales, solutions architecture, product or engineering, depending on where your strengths take you.

ABOUT OLIPOP
At OLIPOP, we’re on a mission to positively impact consumer health at scale. And we’re doing it through something simple: soda. But not just any soda, a new kind of soda: one that’s delicious, refreshing, and actually good for you.
This mission is deeply personal for our CEO, Co-Founder, and Formulator, Ben Goodwin. Like many of us, Ben grew up consuming the Standard American Diet: lots of soda and processed foods that prioritized convenience over nutrition. But at 14, he took his health into his own hands. After making significant changes to his nutrition and exercise, he lost 50 pounds and saw a transformation in his energy, mood, and emotional clarity.
Those changes sparked a deep curiosity about the connection between nutrition and health. Ben became a relentless student of the gut microbiome and the ways it supports overall wellness. The more he discovered, the more passionate he became about finding credible, science-backed ways to make consumer health accessible to everyone.
The mission was clear. The vehicle? Less so. After exploring the possibilities, Ben landed on an unexpected yet familiar choice: soda. It was something he loved as a kid, and he knew millions shared that same nostalgia. But this wouldn’t be just any soda. With most Americans falling short on daily fiber, Ben set out to create a version with more fiber and less sugar, one that was perfectly balanced. The result? A deliciously refreshing soda with 6 to 9 grams of fiber and 2 to 5 grams of sugar, delivering science-backed benefits without sacrificing the classic taste people crave.
In 2018, the first OLIPOP cans hit the shelves, bringing Ben’s vision to life with a functional soda that anyone could enjoy. And by reimagining soda, we’re also reshaping culture. That means creating products that support health for all and building a business grounded in humanistic values: empathy, integrity, and a belief in better for everyone. From the ingredients we source to the culture we foster, we’re committed to proving that business (and beverage!) can be a force for good, and that soda has the power to bring people together.
So join us, and let’s write a new American soda story together. One we can all feel good about. One OLIPOP at a time.

We value thoughtful debate. We give feedback with care and receive it with curiosity, knowing that real growth, both personal and collective, comes from listening as much as leading. Because at OLIPOP, it’s not just about getting things done. It’s about growing together, staying true to what matters, and building something with lasting impact.

HOW WE WORK
We may be fully remote, but we’re anything but disconnected. OLIPOP has grown from a few passionate people around a table to a nationwide team, and we’ve done it without losing our collaborative spirit or sense of purpose.
Connection here is intentional. From cross-functional projects and IRL offsites to thoughtful Slack threads and spontaneous gifs, we make the effort to stay close, even across time zones. Sure, we move quickly, but we lead with trust, transparency, and a shared commitment to doing work that matters.
WHAT WE VALUE
At OLIPOP, our values aren’t just posters on a wall. They shape how we show up: for each other, for our customers, and for the mission we’re chasing together.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Success at OLIPOP doesn’t come from checking boxes; it comes from living our values, staying curious, and finding energy in both the pace and the purpose. We’re building something big, and we’re looking for people who:
